Reports to: Head of Math Department

Job Summary: 
Star Academy is seeking a new Math Teacher for the 2024-2025 school year.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Responsibilities also include:

  • Teach Math to middle and high school students.
  • Drive student growth by preparing and delivering rigorous and engaging lesson plans that follow an advanced curriculum.
  • Instruct students in a clear and concise way.
  • Track and record student progress and keep records up to date for report cards and parent-teacher conferences.
  • Communicate with parents regarding child’s performance.
  • Provide additional support outside of the classroom for struggling students.
  • Build strong relationships with your students and aid in the strengthening of their self-confidence and motivation while inspiring them to achieve high goals.
  • Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.

Skills and Competencies:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in education or a field related to the subject(s) the applicant intends to teach.
  • Expertise teaching the subject(s) the applicant intends to teach.
  • Experience teaching in a classroom environment.
  • Passion for subject/content area.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, colleagues and staff.
  • Flexibility and high adaptation skills to work successfully in an unpredictable school setting.
  • Organization and communication skills.

Preferred:

  • 3+ years of teaching experience.
  • An advanced degree: Master’s, Ph.D, or Ed.D.
  • Experience teaching AP classes.
