Our students excel at the Historical Competition
Star Academy is delighted to share the exceptional achievements of our middle school students at the Regional Historical Bee Competition, which took place on January 13, 2024, in Chicopee, MA. This prestigious event showcased the talents of young historians in a rigorous and intellectually stimulating environment.
Structured across four challenging rounds, the competition presented 120 questions covering a vast range of historical topics. From the depths of U.S. history to the broad expanse of world history, questions spanned ancient civilizations to contemporary events, testing the depth and breadth of participants’ knowledge.
We are proud to announce that Milosh Uzelac excelled, securing second place amidst intense competition. His remarkable performance has qualified him for the National round in Orlando this May, with further representation at the International round in Europe later in the year.
David Tumarkin’s impressive efforts culminated in a third-place finish, earning him a spot at the National competition in Orlando. His dedication and scholarly pursuit are commendable and reflect the high standards of our academy.
Our school was represented by an exceptionally talented group of students from the 6th, 7th, and 8th grades: Simone Shteyman, David Tumarkin, Sonia Ciccarone, Maia Zaletayev, David Palacios, and Milosh Uzelac.
Congratulations to all the students for their outstanding achievements and to our history teachers, Dr. Andrei Shenin and Dr. Seth Anderson, for their invaluable support and mentorship. Star Academy remains dedicated to nurturing a love for learning and academic excellence, and we eagerly anticipate our students’ future accomplishments in the realm of historical scholarship.
