Welcome to Star Academy
When we began planning Star Academy in 2017, the idea was simple to say and hard to do well: a school where teachers know each child, where learning is taken seriously, and where a strong education fits into family life instead of taking it over. It is still the standard I hold us to.
Small classes give our teachers time to pay attention. They notice when a student is ready for a harder problem, when something has not quite clicked, or when a word of encouragement will make the difference. In core subjects, students learn in groups that match their level and move ahead as their skills grow.
There is a lot here to grow into. Students can study six world languages and keep going with them through high school. In the Upper School they choose from College Prep, Honors and AP courses, can take part in the AP Capstone program, and can go further in mathematics than Calculus BC. We help each student build a schedule that stretches them and still makes sense for who they are.
I also know how much families have on their plates. Our school day brings academics, physical education and activities together, so evenings do not have to be spent driving from one program to the next. Children need time with their families, time with friends, and time to themselves.
In June 2026, I watched our first seniors graduate. They were the first to go all the way through our Upper School, and in many ways they helped build it. Seeing them leave with real choices ahead of them, choices they had earned, is a moment I will remember for a long time.
The best way to understand a school is to spend time in it. Come and visit, meet our teachers, sit in on a class, and ask the questions that matter to your family. We would be glad to show you around.
