Star Academy Seniors Welcome the School Year with Sunrise at Monument Mountain

September 09, 2025

WELLESLEY, MA – On a crisp September morning, the Star Academy Class of 2025 gathered atop Monument Mountain to welcome the new school year with a breathtaking sunrise. This memorable event was part of a beloved tradition in many U.S. high schools known as “Senior Sunrise.”

The tradition marks the symbolic beginning of senior year: as the sun rises, so too begins the students’ final chapter of high school. It is a moment of reflection, unity, and anticipation for the journey ahead. Many schools also close the year with a “Senior Sunset,” creating a full-circle experience from first light to last.

For Star Academy seniors, the climb up Monument Mountain was not only about the stunning view but also about coming together as a class. Sharing this experience strengthens bonds, builds memories, and sets the tone for a year filled with growth, achievement, and celebration.

We congratulate the Class of 2026 on this milestone and look forward to the many accomplishments that lie ahead.
