Job Summary:
Star Academy is seeking a Robotics Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year to teach robotics, engineering, and technology to lower and middle school students.
Job Types: Full-time
Responsibilities also include:
• Teach robotics and engineering concepts to elementary and middle school students in a hands-on, project-based learning environment.
• Design and deliver engaging lessons that introduce students to robotics, coding, engineering design, automation, and problem-solving.
• Teach age-appropriate programming skills using educational robotics platforms and coding tools.
• Guide students through the engineering design process, including planning, building, testing, troubleshooting, and improving robotic systems.
• Develop and supervise robotics projects, challenges, and STEM activities that encourage creativity and innovation.
• Prepare and coach students for robotics competitions, STEM fairs, and technology showcases.
• Foster teamwork, collaboration, critical thinking, and communication skills through project-based learning.
• Maintain robotics equipment, classroom technology, and instructional materials.
• Create a positive and engaging classroom environment that inspires curiosity and enthusiasm for STEM subjects.
• Track and record student progress and maintain accurate records for report cards and parent-teacher conferences.
• Communicate regularly with parents regarding student performance and development.
• Provide additional support and enrichment opportunities for students with advanced interests in robotics and engineering.
• Participate in school STEM initiatives, special events, and enrichment programs.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Skills and Competencies:
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Robotics, Computer Science, Education, Technology, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of robotics, engineering principles, coding, and STEM education.
• Experience working with children in elementary and/or middle school settings.
• Ability to explain technical concepts in an age-appropriate and engaging manner.
• Experience with educational robotics platforms and programming tools.
• Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication skills with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Ability to foster creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
• Passion for STEM education and student development.
Preferred:
• Experience teaching robotics, engineering, coding, or STEM courses in a school setting.
• Experience coaching robotics teams and preparing students for robotics competitions.
• Familiarity with platforms such as LEGO Education, VEX Robotics, Arduino, micro:bit, or similar educational technologies.
• Experience with project-based learning and inquiry-based instruction.
• 3+ years of teaching experience.
• An advanced degree: Master’s, Ph.D., or Ed.D.
