Job Summary:
Star Academy is seeking a Science Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year to teach middle and high school students.

Job Types: Full-time

Responsibilities also include:

• Teach science courses to middle and high school students within a rigorous college-preparatory curriculum.

• Prepare and deliver engaging, inquiry-based, and academically challenging lessons aligned with advanced science standards.

• Teach courses that may include Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Environmental Science, and honors or AP-level science classes.

• Prepare students for AP science examinations, science fairs, research projects, and academic competitions.

• Foster scientific thinking, critical analysis, problem-solving, and laboratory skills.

• Design and supervise laboratory activities while ensuring adherence to safety procedures and best practices.

• Encourage students to explore scientific concepts through experimentation, observation, and real-world applications.

• Assess student progress through a variety of methods and maintain accurate records for report cards and parent-teacher conferences.

• Communicate regularly with parents regarding student performance, academic growth, and classroom expectations.

• Provide additional academic support, enrichment opportunities, and mentoring for students interested in advanced science studies.

• Build strong relationships with students and cultivate curiosity, creativity, and a lifelong interest in science.

• Participate in school academic initiatives, including STEM programs, science fairs, research activities, and competition teams.

• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Skills and Competencies:

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Science Education, or a related scientific field.

• Strong content knowledge in one or more scientific disciplines.

• Experience teaching in a classroom environment.

• Ability to explain scientific concepts clearly and effectively to students of varying ability levels.

• Experience conducting and supervising laboratory activities.

• Strong communication skills with students, colleagues, and parents.

• Organizational skills and ability to manage multiple academic responsibilities.

• Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic school environment.

• Passion for science education and student development.

Preferred:

• Experience teaching AP science courses (such as AP Biology, AP Chemistry, AP Physics, or AP Environmental Science).

• Experience mentoring students in science fairs, research projects, STEM programs, or academic competitions.

• 3+ years of teaching experience.

• An advanced degree: Master’s, Ph.D., or Ed.D.
