Our Students got to compete at the International Future Problem Solving competition held in Indiana University
BLOOMINGTON, IN – From June 5 to 9, Star Academy students participated in the international final of the Future Problem Solving (FPS) project. The project engaged 1,263 students from 242 schools across 12 countries with the goal of teaching students the best methodologies for solving global issues. This year, the competition celebrated its 50th anniversary and held the finals at Indiana University.
The main theme of the final was air pollution. Star Academy students—Simone Shteyman, Sonia Ciccarone, Ava Sherman, Sam Elentuck, Diana Kuznetsova, Danielle Rumshisky, Jacob Meyerson, and Eric Ayrumyan—presented their solutions in three sections: Global Issues Problem Solving, Scenario Writing Competition, and Presentation of Action Plan. In the latter section, Star Academy’s Middle School students were one of the top teams chosen to reveal their solution through a game-based presentation.
Special thanks to our FPS coach, Ms. Beverly Hugo, for her dedication and support in preparing for the competition!
The final list of results will be published soon. We are proud of our students who made it to the finals of such a prestigious international competition!
We will definitely participate in the 51st FPS final next year!
