Star Academy Launches New AI Elective for Upper School Students

WELLESLEY, MA – As part of our ongoing commitment to preparing students for the future, Star Academy is excited to announce a new elective course for Upper School students: Applications of AI Tools.

This innovative course offers hands-on exploration of real-world AI technologies – from language models like ChatGPT to tools used in design, research, and beyond. Students will not only learn how to use AI but also develop the critical thinking skills necessary to navigate a world shaped by artificial intelligence.

“We don’t just want our students to keep up with the future — we want them to help shape it,” said Director of School Larisa Bankovsky. “Applications of AI Tools is about turning cutting-edge technology into a tool for creativity, leadership, and intellectual growth.”

Launching in the 2025–2026 school year, Applications of AI Tools will be available as an elective alongside our robust offerings of AP and traditional academic classes. Star Academy is proud to be among the early adopters of practical AI education in secondary schools.
