Star Academy Students Participate in Model UN in Princeton University

November 22, 2024

Princeton, NJ – Our Upper School students Max Gershberg, Maya Costa, and Lily Potagal are participating in the prestigious Model UN at Princeton University. The event brings together about 900 high school students from all over the US to develop public speaking, analysis, and argumentation skills, and to identify talented students for university programs.

Over four days, the students will participate in discussions on “The Role of Universal Jurisdiction,” “Addressing and Responding to Violent Non-State Actors (VNSAs),” “Crisis of Blood Diamonds in South Africa,” and “The Issue of Organ Trafficking in the Sinai Peninsula.” Each student group will be representing a pre-assigned country, and the Star Academy team will represent Poland. Each team will identify a problem and propose a solution that will be supported by the maximum number of participants.

Founded in 2010, the Princeton Model United Nations Conference (PMUNC) is one of the premier high school Model UN conferences in the United States. Renowned globally for its focus on substantive excellence, PMUNC is proudly run by a staff of over 100 students at Princeton University.
